SPRING BREAK IN HAITI is a phenomenon designed to cater to patrons and university students across the globe as they embark upon this purified, peaceful, and spiritual adventure into the legendary Caribbean island during their spring semester recess. Come join us to re-discover the ‘PEARL OF THE ANTILLES’; paradise in its essence. As for competition, there is none. Contemporary Haiti has resources and attractions that are virtually untouched by tourists and maintains a royal history, which serves as a blueprint throughout the Caribbean. For one week, Spring Breakers will realize and embrace this exotic culture. Participants will tour specified cities: including Cap Haitien, Jakmel, and Port-Au-Prince, all which have sustained extraordinary cultural expression, through musicianship, artistry, exquisite Creole cuisine, natural excursions, beautiful beaches and resort settings that could only be descrbed as a “Caribbean Paradise.”

The Grand Hotel Oloffson is a gingerbread Victorian hotel near the center of Port-au-Prince. It was the setting for "The Comedians" by Graham Greene and is worth a visit even if you don't stay there. It is definitely the stuff of which stories are made. There is a very nice restaurant and you can eat on the veranda. There is usually a buffet on Thursday nights (do check the day) and they serve Haitian specialities. At least one night a week they have a live band and that is usually excellent.

A good, asphalted road takes you into the southeast
of Haiti, to Jacmel, 80 kilometres from the capital Port-au-Prince. Once in the town of Jacmel, with the service station on your right, make a left turn into the Avenue Baranquilla, in the direction of Marigot. Continue on for roughly seven minutes and follow the indication of the hotel. Bon voyage, welcome and "always with the smile!"
